Chris Lim Completes the Circle California shooter captures ADO National 501 Title 19 years after father Paul Lim Making his way around the steel-tip circuit, Chris "Lightning" Lim has been pegged by many as one to watch, and backed up this praise with an impressive run to become the 2016 ADO National 501 Champion, a title coveted by all the best shooters in the USA. Chris's father, Paul Lim, won this exact title in 1997, when Chris was just a young boy, proving the distance between apple and tree is about 7'-9.25". Youth Ace Dan Robbins Turns National Defeat into Dream Weekend Domenik Pundt takes ADO Youth 501 Title and Invitation to World Masters in England For even the youngest of competitors, the razor thin lines between jubilant victory and agonizing defeat can play havoc on your confidence as a shooter. Unless you're Dan Robbins. Having lost a chance to go to England for a second straight year to fellow youth ace Domenik Pundt, 17 year old Dan Robbins could have put his darts away for the weekend, but the young fella from Massachusetts instead put his money on the line, entering many of the adult events at the USA Classic and taking two first-place finishes in a field filled with the country's best. Paired with Joseph Chaney in the Friday night blind draw, this makeshift duo put the hurt on many formidable teams, and lasted until the wee hours to emerge 1st place winners. Dan then proved his prowess versus much older players was no fluke, winning the Mixed Doubles 501 outright with veteran partner Carol Rawson, eliminating his own partner from the night before, Joe Chaney and his partner Melissa Wright on the elevated finals stage, a place where Dan is fast becoming accustomed. Although they live several states apart, Domenik and Dan not only compete...they train together. Using DartConnect's Online Play feature, Dan will help make sure Domenik is ready for England. |
